The Aztecs had colleges for the noble youths called Calmecac the place they might obtain rigorous religious and military training. The Aztecs also had a well-developed concept about education, which has an equivalent word in Nahuatl referred to as tlacahuapahualiztli. It means “the artwork of raising or educating a person”, or “the art of strengthening or mentioning males”.
